In addition to our standardized products we also offer tailored solutions to suit our clients specific needs; Ranging from full mission fore and aft bridge simulator with 24 projectors and 360 dome to custom portable VR simulators for product training. Everything can be tailored to your needs – hardware, software and content.
Below you will find some examples of tailored solutions that we have delivered to our customers.
“The customer wanted a simulator because the winch itself is used relatively few times a year and then with expensive equipment involved. Operators must therefore be able to train on handling in periods between actual winch operations, says Kai Johnsen Product Manager Digital Solutions at Seaonics, who has led the development of the simulator.
Flowlab XR is behind the visualization and wire physics in the simulator. The simulator on board Deepsea Nordkapp is a collaborative project where Seaonics simulates the control system and winch, which then controls the visualization from Flowlab XR.
UPTIME INTERNATIONAL – 12M GANGWAY SIMULATOR
Virtual Reality (VR) has entered maritime industry and is now increasingly used in product training. As one of the leading suppliers of offshore gangways, Uptime International now uses VR simulators to reduce training costs for its customers.
Flowlab XR recently launched a VR crew gangway simulator for Uptime International. The simulator is purpose built to train gangway operators in procedures and handling the gangway. The crew boat gangway simulator delivered to Candy Fleet consists of a laptop, joysticks and VR headset.
We also delivered complete training simulator for UPTIME Internationals 23,4m gangway with motion compensation and autolanding functionality, for use in training gangway operators.
Simulator technology is the perfect tool to enhance market efforts. We have helped Rolls-Royce Marine to gain advantages by being first to market using simulator technology to demonstrate complex products and solutions.
For the past decade we have delivered several simulators to Rolls-Royce Marine, which have been featured on convention all around the world. This has enabled them to demonstrate their latest bridge and vessel design and solutions on their convention stands.
Research and development facility located at the Norwegian Maritime Competence Center (NMK), in Aalesund Norway. The simulator is used for developing and testing vessel and bridge designs, DP system, auto-crossing and autonomous ship solutions. We have also delivered a twin of this simulator to another Rolls-Royce Marine facility.
Full mission ship bridge simulator located at the Norwegian Maritime Competence Center (NMK), in Aalesund Norway. The simulator is operated by Rolls-Royce Marine training department.
In addition to complete visualization system and platform (software and hardware), we also delivered a massive content package of more than 15 own vessels, four geo-specific locations and custom scenario builder and instructor station to this simulator.
It is a fact that learning by doing is the most effective way to learn new procedures. This has R. Stahl Tranberg, a major supplier of helideck illumination systems, acknowledged and developed a stunning VR simulator for assembly of helideck lightning.
Together with R. Stahl Tranberg Flowlab XR has developed a mobile VR-simulator tailored for installation guidance of helideck lightning. The simulator allows you to familiarize with the products, assemble and control lights on a platform.
Lifeboat drills have over the years led to tragic deaths and a number of injuries. Now crew members can train without risk, whenever they want, according to Staale Brungot, former captain and now CEO of ASK Safety.
We delivered full mission lifeboat VR simulator with custom mother vessel, lifeboat and davit system to Ask Safety and the simulator is used in their STCW training courses. It was presented to the world at the Seatrade Cruise Global in Miami in April 2019 with great success.
This project is a great example of how our standardized “off the shelf” products can be customized and tailored to suit our clients individual requirements.
